Actual Play – Get Charlotte Chapter One: The Crew

I have been an enthusiastic player of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) for many years, so I’m excited anytime I’m invited to join the cast of an Actual Play. This is the first chapter of what promises to be an epic journey for my character, The Hammer, a Russian ex-boxer who is really good at smashing things. Check out Deamslayer Studios’ Get Charlotte.

“Beau Brownstone has a problem. His teenage daughter, Charlotte has been missing for three days, and a cryptic letter threatening his criminal empire has the whole family on edge. Beau scrambles to put together a Crew to Get Charlotte back. With no leads as to her whereabouts, Beau sends The Crew to an old friend, Nice Guy Eddie at an old junkyard called Monster Joe’s Truck and Tow to get the lowdown on what’s going on in the underbelly of LA’s underworld, hoping for a lead on what might have happened to Charlotte. When The Crew arrives, however, they stumble upon a robbery in progress. Will they win the day or make a mess of things? Find out in our premiere episode of our new ongoing campaign, Get Charlotte, set in the worlds of Quentin Tarantino, Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller!”

Gaming On… Get Charlotte

Recently, I’ve had the pleasure of taking part in some exciting new online actual play tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), and one of my favorites has been Get Charlotte. This one is perfect for anyone who enjoys stories in the vein of Quentin Tarantino, or is curious about the innovative Everyday Heroes RPG that uses 5E. In Get Charlotte, I get to embody a tough ex-boxer who’s a Russian American (called The Hammer), wielding a sledgehammer to take on his enemies. If any of this sounds appealing, I recommend giving it a watch!

SFP-Now TV Reviews: Wolfpack, Lockwood & Co., Last of Us

I’m co-hosting another podcast! Every other week Ian and I review TV shows. More details on this episode below.

Welcome to SFP-NOW and our new TV reviews show that we’ll be looking to roll out every two weeks. For this series, Ian Cullen is joined by Marx Pyle of GenreTainment to discuss episodes of various genre television shows. We hope to bring in a third host to occasionally try and spice things up. But for now it will just be myself and Marx.

This First episode takes a look at episode three of The Last Of Us, which seemed to stir up mixed reviews from fans of the game versus those fans that have just tuned in for the series. Get our views on the Bob and Frank storyline.

Also, we have a look at the new Netflix Series Lockwood & Co, which is somewhat of a surprise package with its story of an alternate future in which ghosts are a very common occurrence, but can only be hunted down by teenagers.

Staying on the theme of supernatural series we also take a look at the new Paramount Plus series Wolf Pack, which is somewhat of a comeback for Buffy’s Sarah Michelle Geller who interestingly doesn’t have a huge role in the show’s pilot episode. But we’re pretty sure that her role will expand as the story grows.

Moving on from horror. We jump to some time travel for some fast and dirty comments on the new Quantum Leap series and the episode titled Leap. Die. Repeat. which kind of played out a little like Groundhog Day.

And Finally, Marx talks about his recent experience of being a panelist on a massive Buffy The Vampire Slayer Rewatch and talks a little about what he considers to be the best episodes of the show’s fourth season.

I had another great time being a panelist for Buffy Watch on the Dragon Con Urban Fantasy Track YouTube channel. This time we chatted about season 3 of this ground breaking TV series! What did we think of the season premiere and finale? Who had the best character arc this season? What were our most favorite and least favorite episodes? There were new characters (Anya, Faith), returning characters (Spike, Ethan Rayne), and memorable characters (The Mayor, Mr. Trick, Vampire Willow), and so much more. Many of the episodes were layered with powerful themes and topped with funny moments and fast-paced action. We had a great time discussing Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
