Dragon Con Urban Fantasy Track: Slayers

This was a fun Dragon Con Urban Fantasy panel about one of my favorite settings, the Buffyverse. We discussed the new Buffy the Vampire Slayer audio drama, Slayers. It was great hearing James Marsters voice back as Spike! With him and so many other returning actors (Charisma Carpenter, Anthony Head, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield Ford, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary, Danny Strong) it felt like a reunion. What did we love about Slayers? What did we think of a Buffyverse show in an audio drama format? What character arc did we like best? If we get a season 2, what would we love to see…I mean hear? Watch and find out.

This “scripted audio original picks up 10 years after the events of the final episode of ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer.’ Since then, Spike (James Marsters) has gone deep undercover in Los Angeles, convincing the forces of darkness that he’s back to his evil ways. When his cover is compromised by sixteen-year-old Indira Nunnally (Laya DeLeon Hayes), Spike finds himself on baby-slayer-sitting duty once more. While he attempts to track down a watcher for his eager new protégé, their paths collide with the veteran Slayer of a parallel reality where Buffy Summers never existed…a reality where Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter) is the one-and-only Slayer. She needs Spike’s help with a classic big bad terrorizing her world…his old flame, Drusilla (Juliet Landau).”

Actual Play – Ozark Requiem – Part 1 – Whispers in the Dark

Nothing ignites the imagination like Tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), so I’m always excited when I start a new Actual Play. This time we are in the post-apocalyptic Ozarks.

I had another great time being a panelist for Buffy Watch on the Dragon Con Urban Fantasy Track YouTube channel. This time we chatted about season 3 of this ground breaking TV series! What did we think of the season premiere and finale? Who had the best character arc this season? What were our most favorite and least favorite episodes? There were new characters (Anya, Faith), returning characters (Spike, Ethan Rayne), and memorable characters (The Mayor, Mr. Trick, Vampire Willow), and so much more. Many of the episodes were layered with powerful themes and topped with funny moments and fast-paced action. We had a great time discussing Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
